A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to invalid email addresses under the same domain. For example, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can receive messages from buddies or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some point you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be delivered to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

In case you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a hosting account, you will be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel includes quite a few functions, but it is very easy to work with, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires only one single click. All the email addresses that you have set up will be shown in this section alphabetically and you will only have to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the particular address. Our system will inform you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or pick another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as simple and requires one more mouse click on the same button.
